Flying With Your CBG

Yes, you can bring your Cigar Box Guitar as a carry-on on your flight!

Airlines are required by law to allow fliers to carry on instruments if there is room on the flight and instruments fit safely in overhead compartments or under seats. Read the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) regulation here.

It is recommended that you board your flight as early as possible since overhead compartments are distributed on a first come basis. Once an instrument is stowed in-cabin, it cannot be removed or be replaced by other passengers’ items. The reverse is also true—airlines are not required to remove other passengers’ items to make room for your instrument. 

Most airlines count the instrument as a carry-on item (versus in addition to), so plan accordingly. Here are the links to each airline's policies:

Lowe Mill Arts & Entertainment is a historic textile mill with 150+ art studios. It is the largest, privately-owned artists' community in the U.S. To find us (Studio #106), enter through the main gate by the guard shack. Drive straight past the building and park in the rear by the water tower.

Enter through door #15. Walk straight to the end. We are around the corner to the right.
